Rotating Bezel: How do I use the triple functions stop watch, timer, and second time zone?Updated a month ago

Your Redux COURG isn’t just a watch. It’s a mission-ready instrument, engineered for precision timing with a bezel as tough as its titanium case.

What Makes It Stand Out?

The COURG features our Triple Function Bezel—a unidirectional counter-clockwise rotating bezel designed for high-stakes timing. It’s ultra-tactile, easy to grip, and built to never slip under pressure.

✔ 90-click rotation – COURG Titanium Grade 5
120-click rotation – HONNR, VALOR, COURG42, SCOUT, COURG Titanium Grade 2

This isn’t just about style (though, let’s be real, it looks incredible). It’s about function.

Why the Bezel Matters

The bezel is the outer ring around your watch crystal, but it’s more than decoration. It’s a critical tool for:
⏳ Timing dives
🏁 Measuring racing laps
🌪️ Calculating crosswind speed
💓 Checking pulse rate
💪 Tracking workouts
🐮 Even making sure your steaks don’t burn

Bezel Features

Unidirectional for safety – Moves counterclockwise only. That means even if it gets bumped, it can only overestimate elapsed time—a fail-safe feature for divers.
✔ Easy-grip edge detailing – Designed for quick, precise adjustments.
Luminous 12 o’clock marker – Ensures readability in low-light or underwater.
Engraved numerals & hash marks – Clear, functional, and timeless.

How to use the Triple Function Bezel

1. STOPWATCH (Diver mode):

1️⃣ Rotate the bezel’s zero mark to align with the minute hand when you start timing.
2️⃣ As time passes, read the elapsed time where the minute hand points on the bezel.

2. COUNTDOWN (Timer mode):

1️⃣ Rotate the bezel’s zero mark to align ahead of the minute hand when you start timing. i.e. If you're timing 10 minute countdown, place the bezel 50 mark on where the minute hand is.
2️⃣ As time passes, read the remaining time as the minute hand moves toward the zero marker on the bezel.

3. SECOND TIME ZONE (GMT mode):

1️⃣ Rotate the bezel’s zero mark to align with the 2nd time zone.
2️⃣ Read the second time zone hour hand based on the bezel position, the minute hand stays the same.

Your watch runs on home time (let’s say NYC, Eastern Time). You’re traveling to London (GMT) and need to keep track of both.

Step-by-Step Guide

1️⃣ Know the time difference. London is 5 hours ahead of NYC.
2️⃣ Rotate the bezel counterclockwise by 5 clicks (since the bezel has 60-minute markers, each click equals one hour).
3️⃣ Done. Now, your bezel’s 12 o’clock marker represents London time, while the regular dial still shows NYC time.

Real-Life Example

Let’s say your watch reads 10:00 AM in NYC. With the bezel shifted 5 clicks:

  • The minute hand stays the same.

  • The hour hand still points to 10 on the main dial.

  • But on the rotated bezel, the 10 o’clock position now represents 3:00 PM London time.

Just like that, you’ve got two time zones at a glance—no need for extra complications.
